International mediation efforts to end the war have entered a very complex phase, after US President Donald Trump announced his rejection of the new Iranian proposal consisting of 14 items, describing it as “unacceptable.” This rejection comes at a time when Tehran insists on a 30-day timetable for ending hostilities and complete American withdrawal, in exchange for Washington’s offer, which is limited to a temporary truce for two months. Trump also told the Israeli Broadcasting Authority: “Netanyahu should be pardoned, and Israel needs a prime minister who focuses on war, not trivial matters.” Iran announced on Sunday that the United States had responded to its 14-item proposal via Pakistan, and that it was reviewing the response. Official media quoted an Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman as saying: “There are no nuclear negotiations at this stage.” On Saturday, Iranian media revealed details regarding the 14-point proposal that Iran submitted to the United States of America to end the war. The Iranian "Tasnim" agency said that the proposal consists of 14 points, and calls for a permanent end to "hostilities" and a complete withdrawal of American forces from the region. The agency stated that the plan was delivered through Pakistani mediators in response to a nine-point American proposal. "Tasnim" indicated that while Washington's plan calls for a two-month ceasefire, Tehran is pressing for a 30-day timetable to resolve the main issues, and insists that the talks focus on "ending the war" rather than a temporary truce. Iran's demands include the withdrawal of US forces from areas near its borders and guarantees of non-aggression, in addition to economic steps such as lifting the naval blockade, releasing frozen Iranian assets, easing sanctions, and paying compensation. The proposal also calls for an end to hostilities across multiple fronts, including in Lebanon, and the establishment of a new governance mechanism for the Strait of Hormuz. Netanyahu: We are able to reach anywhere in Iran Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Sunday that Israel's air superiority made it capable of reaching anywhere in Iran's skies whenever necessary. Netanyahu stressed that Israel "must always remain much stronger than its enemies," adding that "regarding reinforcement, we will purchase two squadrons of modern aircraft: the F-35 and the F-15." He stated that "these aircraft enhance Israel's overwhelming air superiority, a superiority that it also demonstrated in Operation 'Am Calavi', and now in Operation 'Zar Harrer'." He continued: “Our pilots can reach anywhere in the skies of Iran, and they are ready to do so when necessary. We have advanced aircraft and competent pilots.”
